I began knitting when I was about 10 – my Nana taught me…and I was terrible. I can clearly remember my first project. It was a fire engine red, scratchy, stiff, ‘scarf’ that never grew beyond about 12” in length. I would make hideous mistakes as I was working on it, then would go to bed and wake up to a miraculously perfect knitting specimen! I don’t know if deep down I knew that my Nana was furiously ripping and re-knitting through the night, but I took full credit for my newly perfect swatch.
I finally moved beyond the awkward beginner phase and have been knitting since. I recently joined my local spinning guild and am dabbling at learning to spin fibre, but my latest passion is designing and creating knitting patterns. My goal is to provide simple, yet interesting designs that are enjoyable and satisfying to knit. |
